I love to watch back pedaling.

Pedal more, my monkey, pedal more!

And if you got some idea that I thought the position should go to a former teacher, I'm not sure how you came up with that. That's not at all what I said. Were you, perhaps distracted by an alternate post you created in your imagination? Go back and read what I wrote:

"As far as I can see, she's got zero actual experience in classrooms or even near them. She has a track record of trying to influence education to suit her biases, biases which appear to have been formed with little contact with actual public education."

In classrooms or near them doesn't mean teaching- it means, maybe, you have a PhD in education, or you have some experience running a state department of education, or you have SOME experience that might have taken you into public ed classrooms or NEAR them, so you understand their issues and how they work (as opposed to having a lobbyists view of an issue- which is often completely divorced from reality.)

Experience would always mitigate (which means "make less painful") a purchased office- because at least you have someone competent.

What we have with DeVos is a purchased office and an idiot. Not the most wholesome combo.

I think Nixon holds the record for most administration scandals- but I have high hopes for this admin to eclipse him. They're coming out of the gate strong. Republicans- always talk a good game about corruption, but it's total projection. You guys are bad seeds:

Experience magnifies the wisdom factor which can make a major difference. It does little to compensate for lack of education and skills training, where subject knowledge is a factor.
