Never did like the long dark winters there, although they tended to be mild. Finns tend to wake up from the dead during Vappu (or May 1st celebration) and that gets reinforced on Juhannus (summer solstice)... Lots of lakes and cottage country there. Have to watch out for two things on the roads, cops and moose. Speeding tickets can be pricey and Moose will win in competition.

I don't remember Koskenkorva being 150 proof, but I suppose there is one that strength. It's much like vodka, except dosed with a bit of sugar. They used sell it infused with salmiakki (salt liquorice), but stopped it became apparent that it was popular with teens. Finns do make great cheese. You can get Finlandia Ementhal stateside, but not the aged blue brand (or was it black or red?).
