Let me rephrase, as you appear to have missed my point. Does it not bother you, that a well meaning adult, who a child looks to for training, would teach that child not only a falsehood, but in fact an entire way of thinking that makes it difficult for that child throughout their life to differentiate fact from fantasy? So far your answer seems to be it doesn't bother you much at all because you've met plenty of people who seem to rise above what was done to them as children. I know people who were raped as kids, and they are doing OK as adults too...
