You are wrong about this.

It was a peaceful protest; the violence came from outside asshole agitators.

EVERY protester I have spoken with did not want violence - and wanted him to be able to speak.

The history of the free speech movement at Berkeley included the campus Republicans.

There are agitators at both right and left extremes. The (ends-justify-the-means) extreme right has militias, guns and bombs - the left is more the set fires and break glass types.

I believe that there is a significant logical paradox when tolerating intolerance. The intolerant want to end tolerance and our open society. So protest is required, as citizens. The same values our soldiers fight for - against tyrants.
