Tht way you can safely shut the door without anyone noticing. That is what I see them doing in Asia.

I did some calculations too. It turns out that Asia is an enormous US export market. IF you add up all of the countries and our trade with them it is really significant. This means the first effect of the whimper scenario is an economic slowdown.

The bang scenario is of course the Nikkei meltdown.

As to plugging the holes in the dike, that's the dam bursting in Japan that they all know they cannot plug.
