Interesting news story. Could it be that Compaq is going to charge $899 for MediaGXm based Presario? Or is Compaq going to use MediaGXm only in notebooks?

That's unlikly, since there were several sources of information about the Presario 2240. We will know tomorrow. But it seems there is a reason for a relative absence of higher performing 6x86MX chips. Cyrix must be pumping as many MedisGX chips as the agreement with IBM allows.
