Senator John McCain ..... He later was shot down over North Vietnam .....spilled his guts.

The article has correct facts, but slanted, just like the news media talking about Trump.

McCain was badly wounded and was tortured unmercifully before he agreed to make a propaganda film. I do not believe he spilled classified information. Prior to that he was given permission by the North Vietnamese (looking for a propaganda stunt) to be released, but he refused since other prisoners had been there longer. The North Vietnamese were furious and tortured my horribly. That took courage.

I know someone who went to Annapolis with McCain and he said he would not vote for McCain. He had a very low opinion of McCain.

While McCain spilled his guts, this non-veteran writer is not about to criticize his courage. It is hard to judge someone who underwent a lot of horrible torture. I expect I would have broken also.

As of today. McCain has outlived his usefulness. It would be best if he bowed out so we can remember him better. People in his position then to stick around longer that what is good for themselves.
