Thank you for posting those! That's a nice system you have. How long ago did you buy or build it? An update to ssd might be speed things up, as long as it supports sata3. If no sata3 it's probably not worth the cost unless the ssd will be recycled into a new system later, imo.

The pilot shared a novabench of his old system attached below. Talk about a guy that could use an upgrade. ;-) My refurb project would be like his going from a horse drawn cannon to an Abrams tank! He does know basically any pc will be an upgrade from his 8-9 year old system and I said maybe he should focus more on buying deals on monitor upgrades in size and resolution.

I'm very happy with the results of the z420 so far, It hasn't been put under 24/7 stress yet so that will be the real world benchmark but the performance tests well for trying to keep the budget low. In fact I'm resisting the urge to add an 8TB 7200rpm hdd as a second drive. If I wait I'm sure a sale will pop up for another 10% off. ;-) If only the ram would arrive to try and upgrade to 64gb...

One thing you probably saw in my pictures but some may have missed is how large modern dual slots video cards are. I was surprised myself, having not installed a video card in a few years, thank goodness the case can support the gpu size. The edges are marked in red.
