However, if you have 20 or 30 winters like that, you have a warming climate. Those 20 days are just a spike in the warming trend which you can see reflected in this graph of ice.

"That it is 99.999999% (or whatever) proof that people are making it warmer"
By itself, it doesn't mean a thing, except there was a 20 day heat wave. The proof is that CO2 is going up, it is our CO2, temperatures are going up in agreement with Arrhenius's theory, and there is no other known reason why temperatures are increasing.
