Hi Christine:

I heard about the breast implant study on a news program and have been unable to find other info on it so far. I'm very interested in this, because my sister died from breast cancer. I come from a high risk family for cancer, so I try to maintain healthy living habits, like exercise and a healthy diet. Also, I try to maintain a sense of humour, which helps.

And if I lose one of mine, I want something to replace it, besides silicone. I just had the most horrible thought, if cancer is caused by a cancer gene, our own DNA and we grow a new breast, wouldn't that one be also susceptible to cancer as well, seeing its from our own cells.

If anyone hears anything about this study, could you post it for me. Thanks.

Who is Sugar Magnolia?? And do I feel undercurrents of emotions coming from this thread, at least more than usual. Did I miss something?

Carol

Try a search for "Michael Hakeem" at the Library of Congress and the New York Public Library. You'll come up with nothing at all. Scholars with something to say--even those with relatively minor reputations--publish.
