I actually have thought of this before, usually when I find a stock that I think will be hot...I want to share it with this group, but I figure everyone is at a loss here and won't be interested in even discussing other picks until we have some profit to spread. Anyway, I figured a few things from this reasoning; one that there will always be the next "hot stock" on the horizon, two that the group here really knows how to grind numbers, research, and pick solid companies, and three that it is much more fun talking over stocks while sipping daquiris on a beach than on a computer! Hey, with the wacky comrade now, you don't think the goodwill is going to increase when we have all made (hopefully big) money? So don't be sentimental, everything will be OK! (I was thinking about calling a five-yarder for the sentimental thing, but I picked up the flag after conferring with my other personalities!)

So when is the quarter ending, RYAN

Xaviar,

Whoa!!! I almost fell out of my chair with that one! Our first date and your talking about how are we going to split up the kids in the divorce-proceedings! It seems like you are asking for a pre-nuptial agreement right now!

Xaviar, I think it is wonderful that you think so highly of all of us that you want to plan for down-the-road...but can I ask you what are you suggesting? There is an open-door in and an open door out. Some like Med-Tech have left while others like yourself have just come aboard. Sometimes you just have to spit into the wind and see what comes back at you. AccuMed and Dana will be here unless the thread dies or ACMI...(gulp). The song goes.....just let's be glad we had some time together.

I take it that this is a sensitive time for you. Your first day into the ranks and all. If you read that far back into Ryan's early writings then, either you are a strong researcher or you have followed this thread for a long time. If the latter is the case then it seems that we have made an extremely strong impression on you. We've been trying to get an SI "warning label" that states Reading of this thread may lead to strong feelings of attatchment to its posters but the webmistress hasn't responded to our request.

Let me ask you if you have stayed in touch with all of your previous school-chums and teachers? Unless you are an anomally, you haven't. Life is dynamic and so are stock forum threads. We are all SI lifetime members. If any of us leaves you can find us on other groups. Maybe it won't be the same but...what is?

Normally I am a pretty fast writer. I will say that this little post has taken more time than any other because it has made me think about what you are saying. Now your making me and Frank Sr. melancholy. I don't know what else to tell you other then... can we discuss this in Hawaii???

Frank

Xaviar,
Thanks for your kind words about the people on this thread. I must say I agree with your conclusions and you have put it very well....I almost don't want to see the stock go up now, as I would then have to get a life off the thread. I nominate you as our resident philosopher...anyway if the stock goes up we can hire a jet to Hawaii and if it doesn't we can all go skiiing at Aspen. I will now try to make a g...last time it did not come out and I confused Frank and Cisco
George
PS. Well I see the <g> came out so I feel very clever....in fact I may now sign as <g> instead of Georgia

Xaviar,
Relative to your post # 947, I have some further thoughts. For me, the importance of this thread and the use of the internet is the empowerment that it gives us as stockholders to be able to talk to each other, to view our opinions, and to learn from each other. By banding together our collective experience and knowledge we are like a giant brain with more strength and wisdom than any single person and this brain gets smarter as time goes by.
The second important advantage is that it permits us to band together as owners of the company so that we are now collectively stronger than any single shareholder in our relations with the company. Others on the thread will remember that I could not get an official invitation to the Boston meeting from Dr. Winrow. Perhaps she will look more favorably upon a request from one of us to attend the next presentation to cytologists and pathologists.( Am I correct, Dr. Winrow?) The company cannot ignore us as it can ignore any single shareholder. Who knows, if we get big enough, we might be able to get a seat on the board of directors to represent us.
Because of the above, I think that the internet is starting a revolution in the relations between stockholders and management with only good things to be expected in the future.
BTW, I am curious as to how you found this thread.
George
PS. A little off subject....I think that the format of this thread can be used in politics for voters to discuss the issues and to join together to effect changes for the better in the U.S.
