It's been two months now....and I *still* have not been able to get an account with Datek.

At the time of the "mini-crash" two months ago, my online broker let me down rather badly - I was unable to make any trades at all. I was annoyed, and decided to look around and see if I could find something else that better served my needs.

I took a look at Datek, after seeing the good publicity it got at that time, and found several features that were very much to my liking - the unlimited real-time quotes and the fast net connection were at the top of the list. There was quite a lot that my current online broker offered, but Datek didn't, like checking, credit cards and option trading - all of it irrelevant to me, as I do not use any of it.

So, I decided that opening an account at Dated would probably be a good idea.

In early November I filled out the online form.

Nothing happened - no E-mail, and no forms in the mail.

Later in November I tried filling it out again.

Nothing happened.

I E-mailed Datek's "support" address.

Nothing happened.

I E-mailed them again.

Finally, a sign of life - but unfortunately I was just told that they had no record of my application, and I should either try again
or E-mail them the details.

I did both.

Nothing happened, and this was in mid-December.

I will be making one more try to get an account, but if that fails too, I have to draw the conclusion that there is either something seriously wrong at Datek, or that they just don't want my account, and that I should be going elsewhere.
