The church is supposed to be the moral leader, right? Then why are they not held to the same standard as the rest of us with regard to discrimination against the gay community and their proselytizing misogyny and other cultural offenses?

If any of us did what the churches do with regard to the above we would be considered barbaric assholes.

In fact if we posted the same ideas that males are superior to females or gays are bad, a good liberal thread leader would probably ban the poster.

What do you think it says to young girls to see the nunes subservient to the priests (kissing their hand-ugh) or females subservient to males in other Christian faiths?

Females have been made second class citizens by almost every major religion forever and it has hurt the females greatly with regard to self image and self confidence, not to mention quality of life.

I think you have to separate Catholic schools from the fundamentalist Christian schools. I'm not aware of any Catholic schools that are anti-science, or that even attempt to indoctrinate student in Catholicism. The one's I know of ( my brother went to one ) are excellent schools.
