There are a huge number of government caused distortions in health care markets, some of them deliberate (and even with positive aspects even if they also have negative results) others not so much. Some of them direct others very indirect.

Totally agree. I'm worried that the current effort by the republicans is still going to fall short of "fixing" the health care mess we have in this country. So long as politicians (right or left) are involved in the development of a system as complicated as health care, we don't have a prayer. You and I have both been involved in solving complex problems. This is not how it gets done.
