I checked message board. Nothing there.
But I feel more comfortable when I know the problem is temporary.
Please understand some of us lost money due to this kind of problem, which may amount to 5% or 10% of principal.
Why not put a related execution system with the incoming level 2 quote?

There were problems NYSE also.
MFN was showing 1 13/16 x 1 7/8, and it was really at 5/8 x 11/16.

Fixed now. Thanks Peter.

When this problem happens, we never hear an apology from
DateK not mentioning cash compensation. We only saw
Peter's tile started from a web programmer to a founder
in the past year.

Peter,

the clock for the Quote time on orders6 seems to be 2 minutes ahead of the other datek servers (and my clocks and the clocks on CNBC too). Please check and fix.

Quick Question. This may have been answered, but I don't visit the thread very often. In general I am satisfied with Datek and don't want to change. Does anyone know if they will start to trade bulletin board stocks? I see there is now some competition in the form of Suretrade. I don't do much of that trading, but I sure would like to occasionally.
Thanks.

Peter, could you confirm some things I learned from talking to one of your traders about Datek that are preventing me from opening an account. He said that limit orders on listed stocks will not show on Island. He also said that unlike my current broker that limit orders on listed stocks will not mirror the NYSE/ASE. Assume, for example,:

o a NYSE stock is bid 10 ask 10 1/8
o I place a limit order for 100 at 10 1/16
o Later a limit order for 1000 @ 10 1/16 hits the specialist's book
o Then 100 shares transact on the NYSE at 10 1/16

My understanding is that Datek will not guarantee me a fill at 10-1/16 in this case. Correct?

Peter Stern or Jon Normile:

- One problem I've seen reoccur several times is when the order status is stuck at "Trying to cancel-day" for a long time. The Datek response is to this problem is that one should call them. How about adding some alert function that would cause some Datek employee to take a look at the problem if the order status is stuck at that message for longer than a couple minutes? I hate uncertainty when trading.

- I wouldn't mind partial fills too much if not for the very slow handling of a second part of the order. After some order is partially filled it often takes several minutes before some action is taken with the other part. Please take a look at that problem.

- Why are SPY orders not handled between 16:00 and 16:15? Why no 1/32nd's 1/64th's on SPY and no 1/64th's on Nasdaq?

- What happened to minimum fill size, changeable orders, Level I and II quotes? They were supposed to be done many months ago. Are they coming up with a new version of your site? What are the expected changes? Java? Trading interface changes?

- How about a detailed explanation of your NYSE and AMEX order handling? I understand that a third party is used for NYSE orders. What does it mean in terms of order execution?

Thanks.
