history may or may not matter, but phoenix tv released this day a documentary w/r to one hakka chinese trinidadian eugene chen who either was responsible for or is given credit for organising the recovery of the british imperial extra-territory concession in hankow / wuhan in 1915

the man stared down the british military-industrial deep-state complex when china was weaker than weak, and convinced usa potus woodrow wilson to refrain from backstopping the british and not send marines up the yangtse river

eugene had advocated engaging w/ the soviets via what he termed "revolutionary diplomacy" to pivot the imperial powers of europe

102 years later, next week, let us see how events go between the core-comrade jinping and the tweeter-in-chief donald, and then onward to audiences by each w/ commissar putin

by casual observation would say core-comrade jinping's task is considerably easier today than earlier tasks back in 1915

what 102 years can make in difference, and yet all the same in too many ways

Trump is no Woodrow Wilson. I am told Wilson was nicer to Chinese than he was to black people. He was a Democrat. Trump and Wilson do share some opinions.

But hey, there are those who believes history not relevant. Maybe they are right, or they are thick.

am wondering if the elmat is feeling crowded out ;0)

SNIP:

Former US president Woodrow Wilson echoed the prejudicial sentiments of the time in his History of American People, published in 1902:

“Caucasian laborers could not compete with the Chinese, could not live upon a handful of rice and work for a pittance, and found themselves being steadily crowded out from occupation after occupation by the thrifty, skillful Orientals, who, with their yellow skin and strange, debasing habits of life, seemed to them hardly fellow men at all, but evil spirit, rather.”
