I'm really starting to question the extent to which "hard science" even exists as a thing. We don't have any Feynmans or Einsteins. People who are true to the cause of the Scientific Method. Today it is just as it has been for decades. Publish [quickly] or perish. You can make a lifetime of study out of something so long as you can get some inkling of success early on. Even it is bogus (in re: Michael Mann).

This is exactly what Feynman was talking about in his famous 1974 commencement address at CalTech. When he spoke of "Cargo Cult Science." In other fields it is often referred to as the battle between substance and form.
