Technically, it looks like the uproar over United beating a paying customer to fit more of its employees on the plane caused the stock to fall enough to test a "W bottom" from above and then recover.

Perhaps United was already so hated that this latest incident of treating customers like dirt (i.e. seats too narrow to fit the average American and only enough leg space for someone 4 ft tall) didn't hurt the value of the brand... incredible as it seems.
