Home Invader Comes Up Craps In Vegas Shootout

Posted at 9:38 am on April 14, 2017 by Bob Owens

An armed home invader in Las Vegas was found DRT (dead right there) after targeting the wrong home and finding out that the home owner knew how to put effective rounds on target.

A resident shot and killed a gunman who forced his way into an apartment early today, according to Metro Police.

The incident, which police described as a home invasion, was reported shortly before 1 a.m. at an apartment complex in the 3600 block of East Sahara Avenue, just west of U.S. 95.

The resident was in his apartment when an unidentified man armed with a handgun forced the front door open, police said. The resident retrieved his own gun and shot the man, police said.

Though the incident seems to be a clearcut case of self-defense, police will conduct a through investigation and send the results to the Clark County District Attorney’s Office for what should be a pro forma review and a determination of justifiable homicide in self defense.

OLIVE BRANCH, MS (WMC) -Deputies in DeSoto County are investigating a deadly overnight home invasion.

A resident and one suspect were shot and killed, while another suspect was shot and transported to Regional One.

“I was actually inside with a gun in my face,” said Cortney Mosley.

Mosley said three or four men entered his home on Burton Road in Olive Branch on Sunday at about 2 a.m. The intruders demanded money and pointed rifles at the people inside the home.

Cortney said there were multiple family members inside, including his girlfriend Kemberly Scott and his uncle, 58-year-old Curtis Mosley.

Cortney said a fight broke out, and he watched as his uncle was fatally shot in the back.

“After the scuffle, I seen them shoot my uncle,” he said.

That’s when he said he grabbed his girlfriend’s pistol and shot two of the intruders. DeSoto County investigators identified the intruders as Deangelo Miquel Tinnin and Miriko Dairyell Simmons. Tinnin was shot and killed, while Simmons is listed as stable.

“They just killed my uncle in front of me. They're in my house,” Mosley said. “Not only in my house, but where I lay my head.”

The family said the other suspect or suspects ran away. Mosley and his girlfriend have injuries from the incident.

“I’m very upset that this even happened to us,” Scott said.

Family members believe the home may have been targeted. Investigators have not commented on a possible motive in the case.

“We’re very confused right now about why this house was chosen,” said Mosley’s sister Maggie Dean.

Dean said her brother wouldn’t have hurt anyone, and they are simply stunned at the events that took place.

“We’ve been living in this house for over 50 years,” said Dean. “This is a family house.”

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- A Cleveland man shot a robber who broke into his house Friday morning.

Eddie Henderson III, 26, shot the suspect after hearing him opening drawers in his home, Henderson said in a phone interview.

He said he was able to stop the intruder before he stole anything.

"He didn't have enough time," Henderson said.

The break-in happened about 11:40 a.m. Friday at a home in the 700 block of East 160th Street, near Holmes Avenue in the city's South Collinwood neighborhood, police said.

The robber jumped out of a bathroom window after being shot and has not been arrested, police said.

Henderson said he grabbed his pistol and went downstairs. He saw a man standing in the hallway. Henderson said he shot the man once in the shoulder.

The robber ran into Henderson's bathroom and locked the door. Henderson said he stood outside the door and fired several gunshots into the door.

Henderson said the robber yelled out: "Please don't shoot, please don't shoot. I'm sorry, I didn't know it was you."

The robber jumped out of the window and ran away, Henderson and police reports say. The bathroom was covered in blood, police reports say.

Henderson said he recognized the man from his neighborhood and believes he served him at his pizza shop before.

He said he has a concealed carry permit because he used to work at a barbershop, and the owner required barbers to get their concealed carry licenses for their protection.

"It's a cold world out there," Henderson said.

Air Force Lieutenant With Carry Permit Stops Stabbing, Doesn’t Get Lost

Posted at 8:47 am on April 10, 2017 by Bob Owens

I was assured by supporters of gun control that this sort of thing never happens.

katv.com

Monday night police were dispatched to a stabbing at 10 Marie Lane, where they found 47-year-old Darren Terry with three lacerations. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Darren’s brother, 30-year-old Chris Terry, was taken into custody for first-degree domestic battery in the case and is being held at the Lonoke County jail on a $10,000 bond.

Upon further investigation, authorities learned a Good Samaritan, identified as Lt. Brandon Teel, witnessed the incident and reported the crime to police.

When he realized the severity of the fight, police say Teel took out his concealed weapon, for which he has a valid permit, and held the suspect until Austin officers were able to take him into custody.

Teel, 35, of Ward, is an active-duty United States Air Force Reserves 189th Airlift Wing and is stationed at the Little Rock Air Force base.

The Austin police chief says Teel’s actions saved a life.

Lt. Teel never discharged his weapon during the incident, and so it will not be recorded in any of the current databases used to track “gun violence,” for better or for worse. Gun control supporters love attempting to use various databases from government and from their own sourcing in an attempt to build the case that firearms in society are a bad thing, but I’m not aware of a single reporting mechanism (CDC, FBI, etc) that tracks anything other than gun uses where a weapon is fired and someone is injured.

As a result, we have no scientific data on defensive gun uses like this one where the mere presence of a firearm, or a firearm discharged without injuries, has stopped violent crime from happening. As a result, we’re forced to do surveys, which have led to wildly divergent views on just how many times guns are used in the United States every year defensively. The most credible dataset collected so far, the National Self-Defense Survey (NSDS), estimates approximately 760,000 defensive gun uses per year in the United States.
