Donald Trump has made it very clear to China that a deal to disarm North Korea is far more important to him than it was to President Obama or President Bush.

As Trump's ghostwriter wrote in "The Art of the Deal" when you express a strong interest in something, you end up paying for more for it than you would have otherwise.

China doesn't have much to sell Trump in terms of controlling North Korea, but the Chinese leadership will be able to charge Trump significant favors in return for what little it is they can do.

He wants to get some pragmatic promises from the US, China and Russia

Cant blame him... he and his dad havent heard the word no yet. Where the fleet is currently located is irrelevant since we all know where it's going.

Nobody knows what the NK leader will do when he is told terms he doesn't like.

Why are you sure SK will back away ?
