Cary,

To get public relations a german genetics professor,
wolfgang nellen, at kassel university
invited 13 journalists to his lab. (JoLab - journalists labs).
For one week the journalists get to know the lab daily routine.
They also could do little experiments do research on a fictitious
disease and complain their results with large data bases.
Without industry sponsoring it will cost only 6000 DM (labtools)
and 1 week strongly restricted teaching.

The journalists were enthusiastic.

(A possiblity to get the outside world into lab.)
