I didn't pull anything out of my ass, I learned about it.

Given your background, you must know how to get from a perceived problem to a proposed solution. Your perceived problem is income inequality. Your proposed solution is some unspecified form of government income redistribution. So, how did you get from your perceived problem to the proposed solution? What other options did you consider and reject? On what basis?

Oh, you say you learned it. As opposed to figuring it out, I presume. But this is a new problem, a ground breaker. It's not been done before. There is no model to have studied and learned and adopted. From what could you have learned it? Unless you're applying an established model, the only way to get to a proposed solution is to figure it out. (I'm writing off divine inspiration out of hand <g>.)

Without some explanation of the analysis involved to figure it out, it does look like pulling it out of your ass. However, er, well-exposed to an environment of social services, an ass is still an ass.
