We have a Catch-22's problem in the United States as regards education. The uneducated, do not know that they are ignorant and do not know that they are smart and do not understand the power of education. And they have the votes. They just elected trump who is scaling back education funds.

So it is hard to get where we want to go without educating the people, but the uneducated will not vote for more money to provide the education. Catch 22.

The idea that the rich won't have the money to pay the taxes if we put into education is just nonsense. Those are right wing plutocratic talking points. I've already pointed out that every study in the world shows that the more educated people get the more productive they get.

We had very high taxes in the 50s and we were very prosperous. By putting $6 trillion into education, ironically it would be a massive stimulus program and probably pay for itself according to Krugman's analysis of how we got out of the Great Depression through stimulus spending on the military.

A concept completely lost on the brain-dead Republicans
