Firefox 32-bit v 64-bit ...

Identical look.

Firefox 32-bit is my default browser. I have run 64 bit Firefox on my (2) 64 bit desktop systems in the past. I no longer do so. Updates are an issue. Plug-ins are an issue. In this 9 month old article Martin Brinkmann explains why such a small portion of the Mozilla FF base runs it:
ghacks.net

I don't think the situation has changed much since Martin published that article.

I forget what the order of operation of install was but the bookmarks and some other files I believe are stored in separate folder from the application and that is pretty standard for browsers now. Check my last post, depending on the amount of add-ons and plug-in extensions you use the 64-bit browsers may not be for you. Also the less system ram there is then the less the 64-bit browsers makes sense, imo.

There was some pop-up at bottom of firefox last time I upgraded the other month, it asked about a refresh to a new look but I cancelled that. Perhaps that is what locogringo was referring to. That link did say if you did the refresh you would lose extensions and have to reinstall. For how I use browsers I like the 64-bit versions but they are not for everyone.
