Well, you'll want to secede and become your own country with Wharf Rat! But, Trump might be on board with the idea. CA certainly didn't vote for him.

Yeah, high taxes and better services, primarily education and transportation are key to feeding a tech oriented economy. Texas will pretty much be forced to that model before too much longer. The major thing slowing that transition is that Texas doesn't have a good angel investor culture. At least in Dallas. The investors are still attuned to wildcatting and other things where they throw millions of dollars into just a few projects instead of hundreds or thousands of project at $10 thousand to maybe hundred thousand range each. At least in the Dallas area they are building incubators for startups, they just need investors who are more attuned to a different funding environment.

And that is when Texas becomes a reliably blue state. With or without a shift in demographics.
