I agree....but as I say, I did not look for trouble here. If someone wants to dish it out I refuse to lay down and let them run over me.

The misunderstandings in the previous posts made me think of the discussion on "I could care less" and "I couldn't care less". Even when we think we're saying what we mean, we may unwittingly say the opposite.
"I really miss not seeing you," (I should leave?)
"non-stop flight" (not good-you'll never land)
"Putting your best foot forward" (we have three feet-a good, better and best?)
"Watch your head" (try it)

And words don't always mean the same in different contexts. Richard Lederer in Crazy English wonders why when the moon and stars are out, they're visible, but when the light are out, they're invisible. And when he winds up his watch, he is starting it, but when he winds up his essay, he'll be finishing it.
