Making a comment, like "I hope you CAN let this go?", IMO is quite OK. The word "can" refers to the evidence status and does in no way reflect a request to shove existing evidence under the rug to make the case go away unlawfully.

Let me ask you, in this scenario, what should Comey have done? I presume report it to Sessions. But how do we know he didn't?

Comey has worked for two corrupted AG's. Lynch met Bill Clinton secretly and Sessions is in Trump's pocket. What do you do in a situation like that?
