Dale- I originated my membership in AOL as through an ISP because I had free internet access but was interested in the services (especially financial). AOL did not have local dial-up in my area. With the explosion of free and subscription information on the net, combined with slow service caused me to cancel after a few months. That is one of the reasons why I am bearish on AOL: they are becoming less relevant as the internet grows and users become more aware of what's out there. I do agree with the benefit of local access to AOL from various cities, but think its only worth it if you travel frequently.
