Autonomous uberized electric cars will be a slow process until the tipping point: <<Maybe after 50% it will be dramatic. I don't think however that the first 50% will be so fast. >> It has taken 20 years of hybrid electric cars to get to all-electric. The proportion of all-electric is small nearly everywhere.

The autonomy process will be gradual as people increasingly hand driving over to the car for particular situations. Staying in lane and automated collision avoidance braking are two basic things that will be very popular. Parking too.

The uberizing will be gradual too. Same for electric which depends on electric motoring being cheaper than diesel and petrol.

But when it goes, it will go with a rush. People with petrol/diesel cars needing a driver will be moaning as their valuable asset is forced off the road. Cars being sold now will be obsolete rather than worn out.
