For me it was not compatible with a lot if software. Being on a very tight budget I would not waste my time Win 10 for the software reason and the automatic reboot feature that I think sucks. Even though you can set a time still I want control on rebooting the machine.

What do you think you can do on Windows 7 you can't do with Windows 10?

So I can continue using the GUI as I have been doing in Vista. I don't have to learn a new GUI or any of the computer settings or something as simple as adding a printer.

I covered it in my mindset spill here:

Btw, I did try the free Win8 when it came out. I still have Win8.1 on a company laptop. NO thanks to 8, 8.1, or Win10.

Why completely change something as simple as a control panel? Like where to set a static IP address on your Ethernet card? Nothing concerning security there. Just another way to generate revenue by hiding it in a new rabbit hole.

Can you imagine how much revenue was generated when MSFT completely turned Office upside down when they released Office 2007? With Office 2007, we had highly skilled, productive, motivated workers, having used Office since Office 95, come to work and spend days staring at a new GUI they've never seen before, just to accomplish a simple task as create and save a spreadsheet for the boss?

I can see them changing up stuff to render existing certs obsolete and generate revenue from the new certs, but I'll never believe anything new is better just because it's new.
