It used to be that when a big negative day like today happened (before the rebound, anyway), this thread would be filled with posts...yet today, there were less than 10 since before the market opened....

my question is, has the last bear been wiped out????
(and i don't ask this sarcastically)

bonnie, one amateur statistician reporting for service. :-)

1. but you originally were talking about where the market is (a top) on the 5th, and not what it does on that day (% gain or loss). the method you give here looks at market action on that day, not at where the market is.

2. you said it peaks on 5th... i guess we could renumber the calendar so the 5th is the highest-numbered day each month.
