Gunther, still can't see the forest for the tree's? Hmmmm...
Step back for a moment and see that by rapid deployment of DVG's FTEL is NOW a FULL fledged INTERNET PHONE COMPANY. Details about what it means to worldcom and costs are most probably adjustable and quite favorable to both parties otherwise no Deal. If you understand the potential of the FIRST Internet Phone Company and the money involved=some 63-Billion in 2002. then a Foothold in the largest Backbone is worth more than a few bucks...I hope RB takes a stab at this. I'm rapidly becoming less lucid these days as FTEL blossoms.

Gunther,
Without being privy to any actual deals, I would guess that WCOM is set up to receive either facility lease revenues or some kind of royalty on FTEL/FNET revenues for this agreement. WCOM then sits back to see what kind of market FTEL/FNET can build for these services. If it looks to be successful, which WCOM will know because they can see the network usage, then WCOM will undoubtedly jump all over FTEL (acquisition candidate) before they know what hit them. It puts them in a great "wait and see" position while making a little profit to boot.
