<< If the chinese market has its way you shorters will be happy. But I for one, think we
investors in US and Euorope should ignore the Chinese market >>

That's it. Bury your head in the sand. CSCO doesn't need Asia to make money and grow. Asia only accounts for a 1/3 of the world's GDP.

Hong Kong down oh... just another 350 points and still falling.

We'll see just how immune C$CO is to Asia. We'll just see about that.

You can count on it.

China's phone, network, and PC have been enjoying a yearly growth rate of more than 50% for five years(93% last year). It has the third largest market(phone+network+PC) only behind the States and Japan. It has a $140B reserve to back up its national projects for its infomation super highways. If CSCO does not do(or ignores as you suggested) bussiness with this huge and fast growing market, I really want to recommend everyone on this thread to avoid CSCO ASAP.

CSCO is a great company. My only concerns are: in the short term, asia finacial crisis may hurt its revenues in Q198 and Q298;in the long term, I am worrying CSCO may live on its past glory(routers) and fall behind in new technologies like backbone ATM switches(ASND just claims it is half year to one year ahead its competitors on this technology).

Good luck and regards,
