I'm old enough that I had to sign up for "selective service" back in the 70's, but young enough that I wasn't of draft age during Vietnam War, thank you very much

A couple decades later we pretty much all realized what a futile war that was, and the devastation that occurred during the war and the aftermath of what happened as millions were slaughtered

I can remember thinking to myself sometime in the late 1990s that, "well at least we learned our lesson and we are done with invading other countries and trying to change their culture while pointing guns at them and shooting them. Then along came Bush/Cheney... oy vey, oy vey

Hell, I even criticized Obama for his escalation in Afghanistan soon after he became POTUS... even Obama who made that great speech in 2002 against invading Iraq, still for some reason thought sending more boots on the ground in Afghanistan could "win the war"... or maybe he was just talked into it by "the generals"
