Thomas,
I received the info from private sources here in Malaysia. I believe it is credible however. For one thing, Chok Chai is one of the older Seagate plants and may be due for some rennovation anyway. In addition, there could be substantial labor savings in comparing Thailand to China. For another, Seagate has been maxed out in existing head stack assembly plants. They have probably looked at this and decided logistics support the change over. I don,t view this as a net negative but as a very real adjustment to previling demand today while preparing for demand tommorow.

I belive there are approximately 9,000 employees at Chok Chai but that is an old number. It could vary substantially today.

You are right, I should be in bed but threw my back out of whack the other day while gardening. Result is broken nights of sleep. Oh well, a few minutes here and I should be ready to sleep again.<G>
best,
Stitch
