I am disappointed it has gone this lo again too, but current
depth suggests it could go one way or the other right now
(unless it is attacked again (likely by institutions exiting
gold IMO).

Right now...

Mike lots of negatives hitting at once.

1. Gold down 4.00 so far today to $280.25 (11:19 Kitco). This is VERY close to some sort of psychological threshold for the market. If it goes below that then mass pessimism may take over and it could drop much further. ( I am NOT saying this makes any real sense but if the people with the money believe it then it is real)

2. Silver down .32 to 5.74 today (11:19 Kitco).

3. Indo markets took a 1 day hit of -12% ( after yesterdays drop of almost 6%) based on 2 main factors. Soharto rumored to not seek reelection and Soharto's budget exceeding IMF restrictions. This leads many people to be not so enthusiastic about social (read investment) stability there.

Conclusion: What can you do1?! S**t happens... only two choices: be patient and hope, or bail out.

I'm holding .... and crossing every appendage I can.

Mike: I'm really astounded like you to see that the ANZ share price never seems to hold its value to date. Today it's probably the Indonesia thing as well as the selling by one or more large institutional investors. We'll just have to wait until these things go away. At this time things that are not controlled by Antares are affecting its share price but we'll just have to be patient until outside forces are calmed down. Antares will have its day one day, hopefully soon.

In my opinion the POG will rise to excellent levels as the market realises that gold is needed as a security measure against currency - when this happens is anybody's guess. The POS (price of silver) is likely to rise much higher later this year - that is good for ANZ.

Ray Fidler
