Mephisto, I believe Carol is Canadian. I have also heard that the United States looks the other way when Americans visit Cuba.

What is it with American feelings towards Cuba, anyway? Why do we have the right to maintain a blockade of sorts around a poor little country that is no longer any security threat at all? I guess it must be the political influence of the Cuban freedom fighters who immigrated to the United States, and live mostly in Florida. But it doesn't make much rational sense anymore. Did you know that in the United Nations, only Israel and Uzbekistan voted with the United States to maintain the way we treat Cuba? This is one of those instances where the United States position is extremely unpopular internationally.

Sorry, Mephisto, for that long tirade. I think I have had too much hot chocolate this morning!!!!!!!

No, Mephisto, I'm Canadian and everyone loves for us to visit. ;)

What I meant and didn't express myself very well, was are Americans allowed to travel to Cuba and if so, how are you treated there.

Well, Mephisto, at the present, living in this deep freeze, ( sand, surf and sand doesn't sound half bad).

Some friends just came back from Cancun, said it was very expensive now. But they had a good time. The ocean and beaches looked beautiful on the pictures.
