This is ridiculous!

Along with the CO, XO and Navigator of the McCain, everyone at SWOS training crews should be fired, CSCS should be fired for screwing up the training a decade before SWOS took over and NETC should be fired for not providing oversight to moronic training solutions, idiotic rate continuums and an overall lack of foresight the paradigm shift would cause!

The transition from paper based charts to electronic charting is taking its toll on our surface Navy. Freakin unsat! I know, the report is not out, the investigation has to happen, blah, blah, blah....

Let me tell you what the final report will say. Watchstanders were lulled into a sense of complacency, did not stand a professional watch, did not communicate the incoming target CPA and take action to avoid collision. They never really say why. Why? Because, electronic charting makes everything seem so easy. And the old fashioned skills of paying attention to the RADAR screen, performing maneuvering board analysis on the display screen for CPA range and being attentive to signs of close aboard contacts did not happen. That along with Lookouts who were inattentive and an OOD that didn't know what to do at the moment of extremis. It bugs the living crap out of me that we continue to put up with this nonsense, literally killing our sailors and costing taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars!

One has to wonder if the diversity focus and everyone is a winner attitude is catching up with the military. Flight accidents and ship's colliding incidents certainly seem to be on the rise. This is what happens when the focus is on inclusion and not excellence.

Who knows what the leadership is doing between diversity sessions? Maybe dealing with sailors getting caught doing the horizontal bop, or unwanted sexual advances from queers.
