PX,

I find it interesting that an investor as apparently astute as yourself believes in the hocus pocus of techical analysis.

Well I guess I talk a good game. But in reality im muddling through this just like everyone else. Learning the hard way as I go.

Maybe you can sell me on the virtues of TA (but I really, really, really doubt it. <ggg>

I doubt it too. I will give you my take on it. But like you I resist such debates.

Technicals is what effects a stock when there is nothing legitimate(fudemantal news) to act on. I think of technical indicators as psychological indicators. Their "reality" exists only in peoples minds. And as long as there are people that use them, then they are for all intents and purposes "real", and you can trade with them. For this reason I use some of the most simple, easy to interpret indicators/tools(including candlesticks), because they are the most widespread. So from my standpoint, no "hocus pocus" required. Which im glad for since eye of newt is hard to come by these days.
