If one wanted to take the optimistic view...one could speculate that NSM has put a hold on the 6x86MXs and MediaGXms in favor of a leap to much higher speed grades...like 6x86MX-300Mhz and MediaGXm-300s.
Maybe they discovered the holy grail when TSMC made a run of .25u wafers and decided to stop current production and reload. <G>

Jim, Bill: Keep in mind that there were some recent reports that Mitsubishi has already designed in the GX for a NC type unit, and that DEC was expected to announce a similar product in the Q1/Q2 98 time frame. Also remember CYRX's push to get built in NT 5 driver support for the GX/M.

Another advantage to the use of the GXM in CPQ's notebooks is that it will expose the GXM and the CYRX name to a different group, ie corporate users, of buyers than who bought the 2100/2200 line. First they buy a notebook, then a NC type machine, etc.
