When you put ports, refineries, and the petrochemical industries where they make/made sense, (in an oil patch next to the high seas), you need to house the workers. We're in a bit of a predicament.

Flood insurance is too expensive to buy in the free market system so the government subsidizes the insurance for those few that choose to buy it. It's like the ACA but they hate ACA subsidies. Being intellectually consistent doesn't work when they think government can be run on slogans.
