The average Trump voter doesn't have a clue what carried interest is.

I've never blamed China for our woes as Trump supporters have. Instead, I admire how fast they've grown and how fast they became a superpower. Their economy will surpass ours in our lifetimes. How will Americans feel when we're not #1 anymore? Trump supporters are getting a taste of that now. No one is following the US now. Without followers, we can't lead. They want us to be weak.

Since our exports as a % of GDP are rising it's hard to say we're manufacturing less or that we sent the jobs to China. The numbers say we're manufacturing more. We simply don't use people anymore. We use machines. Which brings about another odd irony. CEOs are getting paid historic salaries while employing fewer and fewer people. They get money to manage machines and those machines really don't need a CEO. The era of the CEO is winding down fast. What do CEOs do when the workers are going away....well, they have to get paid more and more and more because they have nothing to do.

Hillary wanted a higher capital gains tax on short term investments to take the casino out of the market that was created by HFT and tax cuts. That one act would have changed us from a short term to long term economy and market and made us all much better off. But Hillary couldn't get a headline. The media was and remains obsessed with Trump.

>> That suggests to me that you agree with Trump voters who believe that capital should be taxed at a higher rate than labor. <<

Has Trump ever mentioned this? Even one time? Where did you get this notion? You sound like a BERNIE voter! I think you'll find i-node strongly disagrees with you, as another Trump voter.

Myself, I feel that capital should be taxed the same as labor. But then, I'm a lefty!
