I'm old school yet not rigid in many views.

However, for all my life except for last year and BEFORE TRUMP was elected we stood for the Anthem when possible. Removed a hat if we were cognizant of such, put a hand over the chest if applicable and paid respect to the flag and the song.

So now we fast forward and I'm being told of all the bad action, behavior and we now have many protesting and then many a show discussing.

Sorry, but I'll give a simple solution. When the anthem is playing it's not the time to protest or discuss.

We are cutting many too much slack and doing it not because many are so concerned. If they were so concerned how about we take a knee for all those those wives have been beaten by the players, those who suffer the brain injuries, kids abused etc.

The NFL got stupid as have other sports teams. They allowed what should be discussed in a public forum/town hall etc to be done on a football field.

Now as a long time card carrying IBEW member I will also add, I'm all for solidarity.. not stupidity.

And boy are the owners/sponsors making a serious mistake to not understand this is going to cost them and cost them for a long time.

IMO I

Fintas.. Thanks for the input re Hope Hicks and your idea.

I'd like to see the players take their knees during the game. If they really want their protests to be noticed, why not kneel down on a second down play in the second quarter?

Similar proposals to what you suggested have already been mentioned within the NFL "family". These proposals have been rejected pretty much out-of-hand, without discussion because certain players felt that they had an absolute right and entitlement to do what they want, when they want, without any repercussion or responsibility for their action(s). End-of-story. Nothing else to discuss... The old my-way-or-the highway justification...

EK!!!
