And boy are the owners/sponsors making a serious mistake


The owners are caught between a rock and a hard place. Their teams are 65% black and they want to win games. If they tee them off they won't. If they had passed a firm rule on pregame behavior last winter they could have ridden this out. Now they feel they can't back off from backing their players.

Sorry, but I'll give a simple solution. When the anthem is playing it's not the time to protest or discuss.
Yes, that is my solution as well. I'm simply suggesting that the NFL give their players a "why" this is so important to do. You and I are not 20 something kids whose entire lives have been devoted to playing sports. It's obvious to us. But not to them. And when explained to the players, I truly believe they'll understand... so long as they can "express themselves", respectfully of course, outside the anthem. If anyone is making an effort to do this, it's news to me.
