The Air Force has data showing that during a hard crash landing, personnel is injured or killed (often rupture of the aorta) more often if the seats do not remain attached to the floor and if personel is facing the front of airplaine. Actually every civilian planes should have (like troup transports) passengers facing the back of the airplane to assure maximal survival during a crash landing and of course Simula seats. Personally, I would not mind sitting on a Simula seat, during a crash landing, provided that seats around me are also Simulas!

Read, learn. Some hints for you:

1) Simula DOMINATES the market in North America for train and mass transit seats (more than 75% market share.)

2) Simula is the ONLY successful entry into the aircraft seating business in the last 30 years or so, going from 0 to $40mm in sales in less that three years.

3) If you are in a crash, the odds greatly favor you surviving. The VAST majority of airplane crashes occur on take off and landing -- comparatively "low-speed" accidents. It is this accident type that the 16g rules address. Simula's seat is the safest, lightest, and strongest available.
