I dont think that Eric is assuming that trading is just chance. He is using 50% as an example for his illustration. The point that I take from his post is your system needs to be at able to predict correctly 70% of the time for you to make money given the costs of broker fees and the spread. That percentage of accuracy also changes depending on where you choose to take your profits and cut your losses. Basic analysis that give some interesting insights to a novice like me. Tony
