..tried to post earlier, but guess it didnt go thru--here it goes:
BFPT sold for 9x 1998 rev of about 250 mil plus debt..TCGI for 20x 97 rev of 500 mil, so the confusion..
TCGI has 9k miles of FIBER with big business local presence, but lacks major last mile capability because it is fiber based..so they resell much of their last mile...C Michael Armstrong said to Lou Dobbs at 7:15 something I believe you will hear only the smarter spin doctors pick up on ( CNBC at 7:25 totally missed it) and that is this---TCGI only represents the beginning of T strategy into local business...he said they will use all alternatives, including fixed wireless....this confirms what my sources have told me for a while---that while WCII is proceeding with their bundled business, T needs them for the last mile especially if they buy TCGI...in other words, the acq means the stakes GO UP for a master deal with WCII...as far as TCGI owning BizTel, forget it..Biztel only has 100mhrz in their mkts and that wont do it for what T plans....C. Michael is starting to look very smart...Bill R is looking brilliant...
