Maurice: The military system is a LEO system with limited coverage. Maybe it is just over specific hot spots. I am not sure. The company says all is a go as of yesterday--that is the "corporate line." Since pricing will be a function of the service provider, why not get in touch with your local service provider--Vodafone has Australia, so I would assume they also have NZ--and see what the policy is. I would be interested in their response.

Maurice: You are making the mistake that the market is intelligent and educates itself. The individuals on these threads are the educated minority, the bulk of the market barely comprehends what they are invested in. As for assuming a higher price means better quality, we all might be surprised as to the percentage of people that actually believe that. On another issue, Lehman Brothers has reiterated their "Buy" rating on G, stating that the recent price decrease has created an opportunity. They also quote G as twice confirming the Feb. 5 launch date.
