Jay,
Perhaps I was too oblique in referring to infrastructure, because I too believe that OBOR is not merely an infrastructure initiative.

World leadership, empire building, reserve currency, peaceful rise, co-prosperity, pride of place, market dominance...whatever the euphemism, exacts high economic, social, and military costs. It crashed the British Empire, bled the French, bankrupted the Soviets, defeated the Japanese, and has exhausted the US economically and politically.

"Dropping bombs and kill by drones" is never the main thrust of well intentioned adventures...only the inevitable outcome.

Perhaps my thinking is too calcified to see that this time it really is different.

I'm not being facetious, I am truly searching for the logic in this.

Could you please explain (minus the euphemisms) how you and your HK cohorts view the "main thrust of the point of the project", and why you expect a different outcome this time.

Thanks.
