Kevin, my two cents on technicals vs fundamentals. I don't agree with your assesment that TA measures the present while FA measures
the past. Both concider where the stock has been and where it is now. Both analyse where it's going.

In looking over AURA, I saw that their earnings were improving due to
their acquisition, and new customers. I also saw that their cash flow
may not be sufficient to support their debt load. So, this will be a problem for the co. tomorrow, not yesterday.

I try to find factors that indicate that the company will be succesful in executing its business plan in the future. In looking over VVID, for example, I see that the company has market dominance in its niche. I also see that their business has by means of technology upgrades, built in repeat business and that the company is attempting to expand their market niche to the US and to expand sales into other marketable uses for their products.

The fundamentals reveal where the co. has been and forecast where the company is going by evaluation of the likelihood of success, whether or not the company has the capability to carry out their plan and placing a future potential value on the stock.
